Lessons in Leadership | Providing Leadership Coaching

Thursday, August 20, 2026 at 12:00 PM until 1:00 PMEastern Daylight Time UTC -04:00

Strong teams are built through coaching, not just management. Join us for the next session of Brown University’s Lessons in Leadership with Ed Barrows, professor of the practice of leadership and academic director of the master’s in organizational leadership, as he explores "Providing Leadership Coaching."

Great leaders don't just manage performance — they help others grow. Whether you're leading a team or contributing as a colleague, the ability to coach others strengthens relationships, builds confidence and improves results. In this one-hour session, Barrows will share practical coaching techniques that help leaders and team members support one another's development and elevate team performance.

During this session, you'll learn how to:

    • Apply coaching techniques that improve individual and team performance
    • Ask questions that encourage reflection, accountability and growth
    • Deliver constructive feedback that motivates action
    • Foster a coaching culture that strengthens collaboration and trust

This session builds on earlier conversations in the series, but you can join at any time.

If you're new, catch up on previous sessions on our YouTube channel before attending.
