Stakeholder Management for Physicians: A Two-Part Leadership Series
Hospitals, healthcare systems and clinical practices are some of the most complex organizations to lead. The complexity is heightened by the fact that: 1) the United States is facing an increased rate of burnout and acute shortage of healthcare professionals; 2) cost and profitability pressures are leading to multiple waves of market consolidation; and 3) advances in technology including AI are presenting opportunities and disruptions to clinical practice.
Physician leaders find themselves face-to-face with this situation. Despite their extensive scientific training, they may lack deep training in leadership, business and digital acumen.
